Suswagata Roy

Suswagata Roy heads the firm’s corporate and commercial practice. He graduated as a Gold Medallist from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and has built a formidable reputation in transactional law. Suswagata has significant experience advising clients on corporate transactions, financings, and investments. His  expertise spans debt financing, private equity and venture capital investments, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate advisory. From structuring deals to negotiating complex contracts, Suswagata provides end-to-end guidance to ensure his  clients’ business objectives are met securely and efficiently.

Prior to co-founding NKR, Suswagata was a Senior Associate in the Banking & Finance and General Corporate practice at a leading law firm of India, In that role, he advised banks, financial institutions, private equity funds, and corporations on a variety of transactions – including cross-border loans, project financing, equity infusions, and corporate restructurings. This background gives him  an insider’s perspective on both the lender’s and borrower’s sides of deals. Suswagata is admired for his attention to detail and proactive communication. Clients – from startups to large corporations – rely on him  for pragmatic solutions, quick turnarounds, and a steady guiding hand through complex negotiations.
